A highschool hockey participant died because of accidents he sustained on the ice throughout a recreation in Connecticut, based on officers.

The tragic incident occurred in Greenwich Thursday night throughout a private-school matchup between Brunswick College, an all-boys school prep college in Greenwich, and St. Luke’s College, a co-ed personal college in New Canaan.

At one level throughout the recreation, “a participant from the opposite group fell to the ice,” based on an announcement from Greenwich police, obtained by Greenwich Time. 

“One other participant who was close to the downed participant was unable to cease, and collided with the participant who fell,” police Capt. Mark Zuccerella mentioned.

The younger hockey participant was rushed to Greenwich Hospital, the place he “died because of the damage.”

Brunswick Head of College Thomas Philip informed Greenwich Time that he met with St. Luke’s College’s head, Mark Davis. Philip additionally mentioned he contacted the boy’s household to supply assist.

“We’re devastated,” Philip mentioned. “An unimaginable tragedy.”
