Amon Koutarou

Amon Koutarou is the triotagonist of the Tokyo Ghoul series. He was once a distinguished police detective who investigated Doves and Ghouls. Along with his teacher Mado Kureo, he visits the 20th ward to investigate Ghoul activities. He has a strong sense of justice and is sure that murdering the Ghouls is the moral thing to do. To prevent other human children from becoming orphaned like he was, he hunts the Ghouls and frequently works after hours.

Amon is a tall, attractive young man with black hair and turquoise eyes. The tip of his recognisable eyebrows is bent. He works out frequently and hard, which has made him quite athletic and well-built. Amon often dressed like other ghoul detectives, in a black suit and tie. When he was heading out on an investigation, he also donned a white overcoat over his clothes. He is wearing a silver cross necklace as well.

Amon came to the opinion that the world was faulty as a result of his personal experience growing up as an orphan and set out to change it. He sees the extermination of ghouls as a means of correcting the deformation of the world, which he holds ghouls accountable for. After being saved by Ken Kaneki, Amon showed an interest in learning more about the ghoul and began to wonder why he was on this mission. Amon is an impressionable young man who is committed to his cause and has a strong sense of justice.
