India reported 913 fresh COVID-19 cases and 81 related deaths on Monday, said the Union health ministry. The virus-related death count stands at 5,21,358 after 13 virus-related deaths were reported this morning.

The Union Health Ministry data showed active cases declined to 13,013, comprising 0.03 per cent of the total infections. The recovery rate is currently at 98.76 per cent, the ministry said, adding that the daily positivity rate was at 0.24 per cent.

Over 184.61 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country.

Meanwhile, Ladakh reported one fresh COVID-19 case, taking the infection tally to 28,225 in the Union Territory on Monday, officials said.

The number of active cases stands at seven, the officials said.

They said the Union Territory has so far recorded 228 coronavirus-related deaths — 168 in Leh and 60 in Kargil. No new fatality linked to the virus was reported from the Union Territory, according to the officials.

Mizoram reported 34 fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest single-day spike this year, taking the state’s tally to 2,24,788, a health department official said.

The COVID-19 death count remained at 687 as no fresh fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, he said.

The single-day positivity rate dipped to 7.51 per cent from 21.31 per cent the previous day, as the northeastern state had reported 120 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, he said.

Thane district in Maharashtra reported eight new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally of infections to 7,08,804, an official said on Monday.

These new cases were reported on Sunday, he said.

The COVID-19 death toll remained unchanged at 11,883 as no fresh fatality was reported in the district. The mortality rate is 1.67 per cent, he added.

Delhi reported 85 cases of COVID-19 and zero death due to the infection on Sunday, while the positivity rate stood at 0.86 per cent, data shared by the city health department showed. The data pertaining to Sunday was shared on Monday morning. These cases came out of the 9,829 tests conducted on Saturday.
